In many cases that I have seen for holiday blues involves families not being able to afford gifts. Thousands of people across the nation and across the globe celebrate some sort of winter holiday whether it is Hanukah, Kwanza, or Christmas. Families struggle to keep food on the table and supply their children with gifts. Growing up I myself experienced a little bit of holiday shortage due to some financial struggles but somehow our family always pulled through. There are other forms of help as well. Organizations exist to provide holiday cheer for young ones whose families are unable to provide extra items for the holidays. Toys-4-TOTS and The Salvation Army are examples of non-profit organizations that raise money and collect toys for the children of families in need of support.

In Kleberg County Fire Rescue we are a non-profit volunteer organization that serves and protects the community throughout the year, but to show a little more we choose a few individual families throughout the county that we feel we can reach out to and support in tough times during the stressful holiday season. All members of the fire department help out in their own way, from fundraising to donating gifts for children or even cooking a nice warm meal; we all do our part to help others.
Although we cannot possibly help everyone in the region, we contact other
organizations to donate food or money to help in any purchase or meal we cook. In my experience in the past theses unknowing families are really moved and lifted by our efforts to bring the community together to help them out. The Toy Drive has been going strong for the past few years and we hope to continue this yearly tradition.

As many of y’all know Kleberg County Fire Rescue in conjunction with Kleberg County Sheriff’s office put on an annual Toy Drive for the residents of the county who need some extra help during the holiday season. I plan to make advertisement flyers to put up around local heavy traffic areas. There is also a plan to contact a meeting with the local HEB and Walmart superstores to obtain donations to help out these people, for all partners in the Toy Drive are non-profit organizations. Seeing local partners help out everyday people in the county is a good view and it is also fun to be on the side that is coordinating the program to make some families holidays better.

                                    Texas Farm Bureau Insurance

The Texas Farm Bureau Insurance is an insurance company that covers many farmers and ranchers all across Texas. They provide insurance for crops, land, homes, automobiles, and even life insurance. There is one location in Ricardo, Texas about 3 miles south of Kingsville, where representatives will assist people that have questions about anything on the insurance policies.

Each representative is dedicated to helping out their customers that come
in with claims regarding storm insurance, automobile accidents, and even crop
failure. Texas Farm Bureau is dedicated to customer service they recently won an award for customer satisfaction in the central region.  Many farmers
associate themselves with this insurance company because they are local and they cover a wide variety of machinery and farm equipment. Grain, Hay, Livestock, and Mobile farm machinery Texas Farm Bureau has farmers covered.

It is complete coverage from sunup to sundown. Texas Farm Bureau
Insurance has been insuring farmer and ranchers for about 55 years now. “This is about Tradition, a way of life, a 24-7 job” Although some of their policies do
not cover show cattle that are worth more than a pretty penny , the farm bureau
is for the small farmer. For example, their animal collision policy covers the
loss of an insured farm or ranch animal killed by a vehicle not owned or
operated by the owner of employees while the animal is close to a public
highway and not being transported. The limit of liability will not exceed
$1,000. They even allow a flexible policy to fit any farmers or ranchers needs:  Custom Farming covers farming or ranching as your business, however the owner utilizes it.
The Texas Farm Bureau Insurance makes sure they have you covered at all times in any situation. For example, one basic John Deere tractor can cost a farmer $70,000 and if an incident occurs and not covered the farmer himself will have a loss, but covered Texas Farm Bureau Insurance will help the farmer purchase a new one if need be. Farm machinery is not cheap, in fact it is quite costly for even the largest farmer. The crop insurance for farmers is very convenient as well and will cover farmers in unexpected events such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, droughts, and anything that can cause a natural harm to the crop a farmer is trying to grow. Without insurance it is devastating and is a huge loss but if covered a farmer can recover and try again.
